 How to Join

Our designated region is Tennessee, Georgia, and Alabama but residents of other states are welcome to join.   Membership in a local club provides you with direct access to a network of people with years of experience in the breed. Whether you are new to the world of purebred dogs, you've previously been involved in other breeds, or you are a long time Havanese owner, we believe membership in the SMHC can be beneficial for both you and your dog.

All members must remain in good standing with the American Kennel Club and subscribe to the purposes of the Southern Magnolia Havanese Club.  The club’s primary purpose is to be representative of the owners, breeders and exhibitors in the states of Alabama, Georgia, and Tennessee. 

There are four types of membership:

1.       Regular - individual membership for residents of AL, GA or TN, age 18 years or older.   Dues $20

2.       Household - membership for all household members that are residents of AL, GA or TN, age 18 years or older.  Dues $30

3.       Junior -  membership for those that are 18 years and under that are not included in a Household membership.  Dues $5

4.   Associate - membership for those that are 18 years of age and older, need not reside in AL, GA, or TN  Dues $10
